A Greek Odyssey – Adventures in Mykonos

Welcome to the island of Mykonos – a Greek paradise with chic yachts, wild parties, and endless gyros. Between the people, the culture, and the food, Mykonos should be at the top of your travel list. This tiny place sure packs one hell of a punch!

The idea for this trip started because we had a client in Israel and decided to hop on a plane after our presentation. It was only a two hour flight to the Greek islands so it seemed like an ideal place to go relax for a week before heading back to the U.S. Pure Impulse Odyssey right here!

mykonosWe flew to Santorini from our client in Tel Aviv, Israel via Athens and then took a 4 hour ferry to reach Mykonos. As I stepped off the ferry, I was immediately shocked by the sheer beauty of the island. White and blue huts, windmills, and gorgeous villas all surrounded by an epic ocean.

mykonosFirst things first…we checked into our villa and met an amazing woman from Ireland who owned the place. The villa was absolutely stunning (Villa Konstantin) – it was located on a cliff overlooking the entire town of Mykonos. The owner gave us the run down of the island and a map. So naturally we were off to grab some ATV’s and explore the lay of the land!

mykonosOver the course of the next few days we experienced Mykonos to the fullest. There were beaches everywhere but my favorites were Namos beach (a trendy new age style vibe) and Kalafati beach (more laid-back and away from the touristy area) located in the southern part of the island.

mykonosIn the town of Mykonos and the southern beaches (Paradise Beach club, Guapaloca, and Tropicana) was where most of the wild european summer partying occured. Hundreds of people pack the beach at Paradise beach and Tropicana club, which hosts day parties starting at 4pm and end at 12pm. Then the nightclubs open at 2am and go until 8:30am, just in time for sunrise!

mykonosThe best club in all of Greece called Cavo Paradiso was located here on the cliff above Paradise Beach. The venue hosts the top DJ’s from around the world and even has a full size pool inside!

mykonos Besides the clubs and beaches, the island has beautiful landscapes where we went off-roading. The last two days we decided to rent a massive 1000 horsepower dune buggy to explore the eastern side of the island and film with the drone. mykonosThe town of Mykonos has tons of restaurants, little european shops, and world famous style. Exploring a place called little venice by the windmills and watching the sunset at the port are a must here. Some trendy spots to check out at night in the town are the Scandinavian disco, Void nightclub, and Astra.

mykonosPeople come here are from all over the world; we must have met travelers from over 30 different countries during our stay. Vibes are genuine with an atmosphere that is relaxing and uplifting all around. What are you waiting for? Sail on over to Mykonos!
